I noticed that sportsmen drink a lot of water during the competition. Is it good to do so?

Usually there is no need to drink water unless the exercise lasts over go minutes and is hard. When this happens, drinking a sports drink or other beverage with some sugar in it will give fuel and water to the muscles being exercised.

I take a homemade sports drink by mixing 4 teaspoons of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and a teaspoon of lemon juice in 8 ounces of water. Smile

Exertion and perspiration deplete the body of fluids necessary for optimal performance. It is important to drink cool water during the competition or match.

You can add a teaspoon of sugar or powdered drink mix to flavor plain water. It will encourage fluid intake.
